  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 1 cup bell peppers (mixed colors), chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in chopped bell peppers and Italian seasoning until vegetables soften.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about six-inch circles.
  4. Place filling on one half of each circle and top with shredded mozzarella. Fold over the other half and press edges firmly to seal.
  5. Carve Jack-O'-Lantern faces into each calzone using a sharp knife. Brush tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
