  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Sear chicken for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute). Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and soy sauce until smooth. Bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Return seared chicken to skillet or place in baking dish. Pour gravy over chicken and cover with foil. Bake for 25-30 minutes until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Serve hot, drizzled with extra gravy.
