Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). In another bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, salt, softened butter, and egg. Gradually add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, and cinnamon; stir until melted and smooth. Pour into a prepared baking dish.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick; spread softened butter evenly over it. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the buttered dough before rolling tightly from one end to another. Cut into equal slices about one inch thick.
  5. Arrange sliced rolls cut side up in the caramel mixture in the baking dish. Cover with a cloth and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350°F while they rise.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm to enjoy the gooey caramel drizzling down each roll.
