  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional: cream cheese frosting for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast; let sit for about five minutes until frothy. Mix in sugar, melted butter, pumpkin puree, and salt. Gradually add flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about eight minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  3. For the filling, mix brown sugar and cinnamon with softened butter until well combined.
  4. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Spread the filling evenly over the dough and roll tightly to form a log.
  5. Cut the log into twelve equal pieces and place each roll in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another thirty minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for about 25 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let cool slightly before topping with cream cheese frosting.
