  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 sleeve (about 40) Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine unsalted butter and brown sugar. Stir until it reaches a gentle boil, then boil for about 3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Remove from heat and pour the toffee mixture evenly over the saltines. Spread gently with a spatula if needed.
  4. Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly, monitoring closely to avoid burning.
  5. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee layer. Let sit for a couple of minutes to soften.
  6. Use an offset spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly, then sprinkle with granulated sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces for serving.
