  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Cool on baking sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
