  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)

  • 1 large egg

  3. In another bowl, combine sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread this mixture evenly over the crust.
  4. In the same bowl used for the crust, mix additional flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apple layer.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  6. Allow cooling before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
