Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans and coconut flakes.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers remain soft. Let cool for 5 minutes on sheets before transferring to wire racks.
