Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the chicken with yogurt, garlic and ginger paste, and tandoori masala. Mix thoroughly and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best flavor.
  2. 2. Cook the Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces in batches, cooking each side for about 5–7 minutes until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. 3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent. Stir in tomato puree, cumin powder, salt, and sugar; cook for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
  4. 4. Combine Ingredients: Return cooked chicken to the skillet with sauce. Pour in heavy cream and mix well. Simmer on low heat for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve hot with naan or rice.
