  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook rigatoni in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the Italian sausage until browned.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the skillet, stirring in half of the mozzarella until melted.
  5. Combine cooked rigatoni with the sausage-sauce mixture in a large bowl.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
