  • 4 medium Russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup chives or green onions, finely chopped (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Boil the quartered potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth. Mix in olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
  3. Fold in cheddar cheese and sour cream until evenly mixed.
  4. Spoon the mixture into skull-shaped molds or shape by hand into skulls, pressing firmly to hold their shape.
  5. Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before garnishing with chives or green onions as hair. Serve hot.
