  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add the egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Chill the dough in plastic wrap for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare the filling by cooking strawberries with sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until syrupy.
  5. Roll out half the dough and place it in a pie pan. Fill with strawberry mixture.
  6. Roll out the second half of the dough, cover the filling, seal edges, and cut slits for steam release.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool before drizzling with glaze.
