  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onions. Drain excess fat and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef mixture with cream of mushroom soup.
  4. Fold in half of the grated cheddar cheese into the meat mixture for added creaminess.
  5. Pour the meat mixture into the prepared baking dish and layer frozen tater tots on top.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown; add remaining cheddar cheese during the last few minutes of baking.
