  • 28 ounces canned San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Sauté onions until translucent, then add carrots and celery until softened. Stir in garlic for an additional minute.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in canned tomatoes (with juices), red wine, and oregano; mix well.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, boil salted water in a pot and cook gnocchi as per package instructions until they float. Drain well.
  7. Toss cooked gnocchi into the Bolognese sauce until evenly coated. Serve hot with grated Parmesan.
